Smoked Salmon Carbonara

This Smoked Salmon Carbonara is so easy to prepare that you don’t need more than 15 minutes to have this all done and ready to be served. It is a quick meal, and looks appetizing, your guests or family will enjoy it.

Pasta Carbonara is an Italian pasta dish based on eggs, cheese, bacon, and black pepper.

I wanted to prepare a little healthier Carbonara recipe that uses smoked salmon instead of bacon, also added some lemon zest and chives on top for serving to bring a little more flavor and color to this dish. This recipe doesn’t use any additional cream. it’s just the eggs and Parmesan that make them creamy. I must say it was incredibly delicious beyond my expectations.

Hope you will try this recipe for Salmon Carbonara and let me know if you try it out. Enjoy!

This is surprisingly light – I usually think of carbonara as a rich and heavy pasta dish. Can’t wait to give this a try!

Thanks for the great recipe. I made a few adjustments (used canned salmon from Costco, no garlic, and butter instead of olive oil) and it was a HUGE hit for the whole family!!

  9. Sounds fantastic. So nice to find a smoked salmon sauce that is not cream based.

I am planning on making this for the family this weekend and am inputtting it into my nutrition app. Quick question: Any idea on the size of a serving? I am guessing about 8 oz or so from the ingredient list.

    Thanks

Sorry for the late answer, hope you tried this recipe. You are right, the recipe I've shared with you makes about 2 servings about 8 oz each.

Delicious! I added fresh asparagus and frozen petit pois to the pasta at the last minute for colour, crunch and green goodness. A very well received Friday supper!

    Really nice.
Bit less pasta bit more salmon.
Added asparagus tips and would add button mushrooms next time

Hi Ella, this sounds really nice and I bet it will taste amazing too. I have a question, How much grams of chives do I have to add?
