Ever since I saw this bloomin’ onion bread on Pinterest I just knew I have to give it a try. The melted, gooey cheese is just too tempting.
The recipe is soo easy, takes only few minutes to prepare. All you need is a good sharp knife to cut the bread either wise this could be tricky. The rest is really easy and goes fast. I cut the cheese in thin slices but grated cheese works good as well. Feel free to use any way is easier for you.
This cheesy bloomin’ onion bread is a great way to serve the bread to a gathering and everybody will be impressed. It looks and tastes soo good.
You can always change the ingredients used, you can try a different mix of cheeses, add garlic, add prosciutto or pepperoni, different herbs, any way you make will be simply great. I am sure you will feel the same once you try it out.

What kind of bread is ?
I used a sourdough type of bread.. but any other loaf will work fine.
OMG, Delicious I confess. But Can you reccommend me the recipe of LOAF BREAD I should use ? Cause I do not know what kind of loaf bread which is appropriate for this kind of bread.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Kien.. I used a sourdough type of bread.. but any other loaf might work well. Hope you will give it a try?
Ella, this bread looks awesome! I bet it’s good right out of the oven…

Ella: This bread looks AMAZEBALLS! I came across your video on Facebook after one of my foodie friends shared it with me! My mouth is already watering thinking of all the variations of this bread that are possible! Even though we’re not onion fans at my house (we’d leave them off or replace them with something else) your video had me almost reconsidering! Reading your bio you mentioned that English is not your first language: What is? 🙂 Thanks for a great recipe!
Hy CC.. I am glad you like this bread, hope you will try it out in as many variations as possible. I m from Europe. 🙂
I made this the other day. Didn’t look as good as your but sure tasted great.
Thx
Oh.. so glad to hear that:) I am sure it was as delicious. Thank you for your review.
I did 3 of your recipes today for my guests- Thanks!! 🙂
This one was a hit! I barely spent any effort/time on it and everyone loved it.
I did individual portions (with buns) instead of 1 loaf of bread though, i wanted to recommend – only use fresh bread! one of my buns was on the dry side, it fell apart completely while i was cutting it.
Thanks so much for this recipe, i completely fooled everyone into thinking i know what im doing 🙂
hehe:) so glad these turned great for you.. except the old bread one:) Yes.. fresh bread is necessary..
Oh my God, your recipes are amazing. I loved your site. Kisses for you !

Looks fantastic and i m going to do tomorrow. I just didn’t understand when you added the mozzarella, on the video looks like you added only the cheddar cheese.
I added both.. maybe in the video was not clearly shown.. but try to use both for better flavor
Ella we don’t get these type of loaf bread can you suggest a homemade one and not the sourdough type
