As summer comes I started to enjoy no bake desserts more and more. These no-bake chocolate peanut butter bars are so easy to prepare and are totally addictive. I knew I am going to like their taste, but didn’t expect to love them so much. They also have this beautiful marbled effect on top, that hardly someone could say it takes no more than 20 minutes to prepare.
I’ve seen more similar recipes for chocolate peanut butter bars and was surprised to see that all have extra sugar, some even to 1 cup.
I added no extra sugar on these and they were sweet enough and hold their shape really well. The biscuits or graham crackers are already sweet and there is no need for extra sugar from my point of view.
You can never go wrong when pairing chocolate with peanut butter. Even if you don’t like peanut butter you are going to love these No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Bars. The flavors combine so well, a bit of sweet, salty, chocolaty, nutty flavor, mmmm…totally amazing.
You can hardly stop to one bar, therefore I suggest to freeze some bars from the beginning if you want to have for later, either wise you risk to eat them all in one day 🙂 Enjoy my friends.

Chocolate Caramel Bars
Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars
No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
- 7 oz (200g) digestive biscuits (graham crackers)
- 1/3 cup (70g) unsalted butter , melted
- 1/2 cup (120g) crunchy or creamy peanut butter
- 7 oz (200g) bittersweet chocolate (55%-70% cocoa)
- 1/4 cup (60g) creamy peanut butter , divided
- Place the biscuits (or graham crackers if used) into the bowl of a food processor and blend until crumbs form. Add peanut butter and melted butter and process until completely combined and the mixture holds together.
- Slightly grease a 8×8 inch (20x20cm) square pan and line with parchment paper, in such a way that some edges are longer to make it easy to lift it up once it's set.
- Spread the peanut butter mixture into the prepared baking pan and press with the back of the spoon to create a smooth surface.
- Melt chocolate and 2 tbsp (30g) of creamy peanut butter over bain marie, over low heat. Stir until smooth. Meanwhile place the other 2 tbsp (30g) of peanut butter into a small sauce pan over low heat and stir until melted and smooth. Spread the chocolate over peanut butter layer. Add teaspoons of melted peanut butter on top and with a knife create swirls on the surface.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours to set. Let it sit 10 minutes at room temperature before cutting. Bars can be frozen well. Enjoy!

Awesome recipe! Simple to make (hard to not munch on while making lol) and super delicious. I brought some to share with my co workers and they all loved them but then again peanut butter and chocolate is the best combination. Would make this again!

When using Graham crackers, what is the cracker to biscuit ratio? this is the first I’ve heard of “Digestive Biscuits”.
Digestive Biscuits are very similar to graham cracker therefore you can use same amounts .. Europeans are probably more used with the name "digestive " biscuits..

I have cocoa powder, can u plz tell me how to use it instead of choclate??
You can make like 3 or 4 tbsp cocoa powder with 4 tbsp sugar.. and about 1 tbsp butter and around 3 tbsp of water.. Heat it on stove top.. stirring continuesly until it gets dark and all melted.. pour it over, make swirls with the peanut butter and let it set.
Hmmm…Now I feel like a bit of an idiot!
Thought these sounded amazing so I got all the ingredients together and tried making them today.
I carefully measured all the base ingredients (200g digestive biscuits, 70g unsalted melted butter and 120g creamy peanut butter) and followed instructions to the T but my mixture never ‘held together’. I tried both a low power (at first) and high power mixer (after that) but all I was left with was a runny, sticky mixture and a number of peanut-butter coated appliances. I even tried adding a couple of digestives in the mix later on, hoping that might help set the mixture, but all that I apparently mamaged was to waste some extra ingedients. Now have the mix in a pan inside my freezer, hoping against hope that might help turn it into something solid enough to eat, but I somehow don’t see that happening…
Wondering what the heck it was that I did wrong, especially since everyone that tried the recipes seems to say it came out amazing…I’m not totally hopeless in the kitchen and did follow the step by step video, so can’t for the life of me figure this out…
Any ideas, for future reference?
You should definitely not feel like an idiot.. everybody who tries new recipes may end up with a failure from time to time… It's hard for me to figure it out as I was not there with you to see…I am not sure what type of peanut butter did you use. that might be the reason, also don't use hot melted butter.. melt it and let it cool a bit before adding over the biscuits. I did it recently for an anniversary and turned great.. hope you will try it again
Made this recipe yesterday. They looked wonderful
But frankly they were almost inedible. The crust does not hold together once removed from the fridge.
A typical graham cracker crust recipe, baked or unbaked, calls for a similar amount of graham crackers/digestive biscuits, a similar amount of sugar, but sugar in place of the peanut butter this recipe uses. This is simply too much grease for the amount of dry ingredients. I will try again but will substitute a more normal graham cracker crust.
I am not sure what went wrong for you.. everytime I make this recipe with digestive biscuits works perfectly
Tried this recipe today. I used chocolate chip as substitute, since i didn’t have chocolate bars. But somehow the chocolate became lumpy instead. Did i do wrong somewhere?

I had the same problem. I ended up using 350 grams of digestive biscuits and approx. 1 cup of graham wafer crumbs. It’s in the fridge right now so I don’t know how it will turn out but it was the right consistency when I spread it in the pan
that's weirs.. maybe it's from the peanut butter you used.. I am not sure why for some this recipe does not work..

Thank you so much for this recipe. I have made them twice within one week, and they turned out quite a success. Everybody loves the taste, really! After the first batch, my husband requested for more although he is not a big fan of chocolate or peanut butter. My kid went crazyyy every time I suggested we’d make them. I also served them during coffee break at work, and all of my female colleagues eagerly took a copy of your recipe. All in all, your recipe is simple, tasty, healthy, and super easy to make…oh, and it looks beautiful as well. Thank you once again!
p.s. On my second batch, I added Oreo cookie crumbs in the Digestive mixer in order to sweeten it and it works out really well. 🙂

That’s a wonderful recipe and I had to ask to you with regards to t chocolate..can I use the regular chocolate instead of the one you have used and by bitter chocolate do you mean dark chocolate?

For those who had problems making the base, I think the type of peanut butter might make a difference. (?) I used natural peanut butter (just ground peanuts and salt). The result was a bit too soft because I think the natural peanut butter is runnier than regular peanut butter. I didn’t take this into consideration when I was making these bars. Heheh. 😛 Anyway, I made an almond meal crust to save whatever I had, and my friends really enjoyed eating them. I will try to make this again!

I just had to tell you how much me & my family loved these. Thank you so much for this wonderful and easy recipe. After reading some comments from other readers about problems with the base of the bars.. I just grinded the biscuits and mixed in peanut butter and butter by hand (something I do for most of such recipes) and it held up well and turned out beautiful. I also added some salted crushed peanuts on the base before topping with the chocolate layer. Loved the final swirls! Looked spectacular and my family was literally fighting over the last piece 🙂 😉
