These Cottage Cheese Cinnamon Rolls are one of those happy kitchen surprise, soft, swirly, and incredibly satisfying, yet made with simple everyday ingredients. I love that they come together without yeast, without long rising times, and without any complicated steps. Just mix, roll, fill, bake… and your kitchen smells like pure comfort.

The cottage cheese is the secret here. Once blended smooth, it melts right into the dough, adding tenderness and a gentle richness while boosting the protein. The result is a roll that’s soft and fluffy but still has a lovely texture, not heavy, not dense, just perfectly cozy. The buttery cinnamon filling swirls through every layer, creating that classic warm, sweet flavor we all crave.

These are the kind of cinnamon rolls I make when we want something special but don’t want to wait too much time. They’re perfect for slow weekend mornings, after-school treats, or those “I need something sweet now” moments. I especially love them slightly warm, with a creamy yogurt and honey glaze melting over the top.

How to make cottage cheese cinnamon rolls 

Begin with preheating the oven to 190°C / 375°F. Grease and line an 8-inch (20 cm) baking dish with parchment paper.

Blend the cottage cheese until completely smooth and creamy. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the blended cottage cheese, egg, sugar, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract. Mix just until a soft dough forms, do not overmix.

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with the cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt.

On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 9×12-inch (25×30 cm) rectangle. Spread the cinnamon butter mixture evenly over the surface. Cut the dough into 6 equal strips and roll each strip up tightly.

Transfer the rolls to the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, until lightly golden and set.

Meanwhile, prepare the yogurt glaze by mixing the Greek yogurt with honey, vanilla, a pinch of salt, and a little cinnamon.

Let the rolls cool slightly, then glaze them while warm, not hot, so the topping gently melts over the surface.

Ingredients
  

  • 7 oz 200g) cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp (30g) Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ¾ cup (225g) all-purpose flour
  • tsp (10g) baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) salt
  • 2 tbsp (30g) sugar
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) vanilla extract

Cinnamon Filling

  • 2 tbsp (30g) butter , melted
  • 3 tbsp (45g) brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp (5g) cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Greek Yogurt Honey Glaze

  • 1/2 cup (120g) Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ tbsp (30g) honey
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and line with parchment paper an 8-inch (20cm) baking dish. Transfer the cottage cheese into the bowl of a food processor.
