These Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies are one of the best cookies ever. This is my first time I am incorporating peanut butter to a cookie recipe and I have to admit I love it. Peanut butter adds both a delightful texture and flavor to these classic chocolate cookies. I initially worried that the peanut butter might overpower the taste, but it’s just the right balance. You can definitely discern the peanut flavor, yet it harmonizes beautifully with the chocolate.
I brought a batch of these peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies to my daughter’s kindergarten Christmas celebration, and they were a hit! By the end of the evening, they had all disappeared.
I’m already planning to whip up another batch for Christmas. This recipe truly ranks among the best cookie creations, making it an ideal homemade gift idea as well.
How to make peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies
Begin with preheating the oven to 350°F (180°C) and lining two baking sheets with parchment paper. Next, cut the chocolate into chunks.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. In another bowl, add the peanut butter, butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar. Using an electric mixer, mix well until creamy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. With the mixer on low, gradually add the flour mixture and mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chunks.
Using an ice cream scoop, take equal portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheets, about 1 inch apart. Press down slightly with the bottom of a glass dipped in granulated sugar.
Bake until golden, for about 10-13 minutes. Transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
