Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots

These Brown Sugar-Glazed Carrots are a delicious and easy carrot side dish perfect for Thanksgiving Day.

These Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots are extremely easy to make, the carrots are cooked with brown sugar and butter in a minimum of liquid to bring out the best of their flavor. The orange and toasted walnuts add a pleasant aroma to this carrot dish. Hope you will try these brown sugar-glazed carrots as I am sure you will love them.

How to make brown sugar-glazed carrots

To create this flavorful carrot side dish, start by melting butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Once the butter is fully melted, add sugar and stir until it has completely dissolved.

Next, incorporate the carrots, orange peel, salt, pepper, and water into the pan. Mix well to ensure the carrots are evenly coated with the butter and sugar mixture. Cover the pan and let the carrots cook over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the carrots to become crisp-tender.

After 10 minutes, remove the lid and continue cooking until all the liquid has evaporated. This step helps the carrots caramelize slightly, enhancing their natural sweetness.

Once the liquid has evaporated, remove the pan from the heat. Stir in freshly chopped parsley and toasted walnuts to add a fresh, herbaceous note and a delightful crunch to the dish.

Serve the carrots warm, making them a perfect side dish to your favorite meat dishes.
