Earlier this year, I joined a cooking class focused on Plating, which turned out to be quite enjoyable and informative. During the course, one thing I learned was this Lemon Sauce recipe that we used a lot in our dishes.
This lemon sauce recipe is surprisingly simple yet bursting with flavor. It utilizes lemon peels to intensify the citrusy taste, making it an ideal accompaniment for fish dishes. However, its versatility shines through as it pairs beautifully with various meats, vegetables, and even desserts.
This lemon sauce can elevate desserts like cheesecake, infusing them with a delightful burst of fresh citrus flavor. I recently tried it with cheesecake, and the results were truly remarkable.
Once you experience the vibrant taste of this Lemon Sauce, you’ll find it hard to resist incorporating it into your culinary repertoire—it’s a game-changer that adds a zesty touch to any dish.
How to make lemon sauce
Start by thoroughly washing the lemons and then peeling them. Make sure to only peel off the yellow part, leaving behind the white pith.
In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the lemon peels and let them boil for 2 minutes. Drain the peels and repeat this step 5 or 6 times. It’s crucial to repeat this process as it helps reduce bitterness and removes any wax from the lemon peels.
Afterward, place the blanched lemon peels in the blender bowl. Add olive oil, lemon juice, salt, sugar, and water.
Process the mixture in the blender for a couple of minutes until it’s well blended and smooth.
Next, strain the mixture through a sieve, cover it, and refrigerate. You can store it covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Hope you will try this out and enjoy your homemade lemon sauce! Don’t forget to tag me in your Instagram posts or stories, so I can see your amazing results.
