This tomato pizza sauce is very flavorful due to all the seasonings used and takes no more than 15 minutes to prepare. Once you get used to homemade tomato sauce you will never buy tomato sauce again. While this sauce can be frozen for future use, it’s so simple that making it ahead of time is almost unnecessary.

How to make homemade tomato pizza sauce
Start by heating oil in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for a few seconds until fragrant. Then, stir in diced tomatoes.
Add sugar, basil, oregano, a bay leaf, and red pepper flakes if desired, along with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, or until it reaches the desired consistency for spreading on your pizza.
Once cooked, remove the sauce from the heat and allow it to cool slightly before using it as a topping for your pizza. Store this sauce in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze until you’re ready to use it again.
