How to make berry crumble

This recipe is extremely simple and requires just one bowl for preparation. To start, preheat your oven to 350 F (180C) and lightly grease an 8-inch (20cm) square baking dish with butter.

In a large mixing bowl, combine a variety of mixed berries. Include blueberries, blackberries, red currants and raspberries. Combine them with sugar, cornstarch, lemon zest and lemon juice. Toss everything together until the berries are evenly coated with the mixture.

Next, spread the berry mixture evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

In the same bowl or take another as you wish, stir together rolled oats with the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. If desired, add some chopped walnuts for an extra crunch. Stir in melted butter until the mixture becomes evenly moist and crumbly.

Now, spread the crumble mixture on top of the berry mixture in the baking dish. Make sure to spread it out evenly to ensure a perfectly baked crumble.

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.

Remove it from the oven and serve it warm alongside your favorite accompaniment, whether it’s a scoop of ice cream or some Greek yogurt.
