These Greek Yogurt Buns are one of my favorite quick bread recipes when I want something warm, soft, and homemade without waiting for yeast dough to rise. They come together with just a few simple ingredients and bake up beautifully golden on the outside while staying fluffy and tender inside. In less than an hour, you can have fresh homemade buns on the table.

The Greek yogurt gives these buns a soft texture and a subtle tang that makes them taste extra special, even though the recipe is incredibly easy.

I love making them for breakfast sandwiches, serving them alongside soups, or simply enjoying one warm with butter straight from the oven. They also work wonderfully as dinner rolls or sandwich buns.

These buns are soft, comforting, and perfect for busy days when you still want the feeling of homemade bread. Once you try them, they may easily become one of those simple recipes you come back to again and again.

How to make Greek Yogurt Buns

Begin with preheating the oven to 190°C (375°F) and lining a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring well to evenly distribute the ingredients.

Add the Greek yogurt and mix with a spoon or spatula until a shaggy dough begins to form.

Gently knead for 1–2 minutes, just until the dough comes together and looks fairly smooth. The dough should remain soft. If it feels too sticky to handle, add a little extra flour, one tablespoon at a time.

Shape the buns

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a smooth ball. Arrange the buns on the prepared baking tray, leaving a little space between them.

Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt and sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture.

Bake and serve

Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the buns are beautifully golden and nicely puffed.

Allow them to cool slightly before serving. They are especially delicious served warm with butter, alongside soups and salads, or sliced for simple homemade sandwiches, soft, fluffy, and wonderfully easy to make anytime.
