Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

This heavenly homemade Salted Caramel Sauce is a perfect blend of rich caramel sweetness with a touch of sea salt. It has a perfect balance between sweet and salty, creating a symphony of flavors that will add a fancy touch to your favorite desserts.

I love caramel recipes and I have been using this salted caramel sauce in many of my recipes. This salted caramel sauce is rich, buttery, and enhances the flavor of anything it touches.

It’s incredibly versatile, you can use it in various desserts and drizzle it over ice cream, pancakes, cakes, cookies, cheesecake, pies or waffles for a quick way to make your food taste fancier.

The recipe is really easy and quick, and you need just a few basic ingredients, sugar, butter, cream salt and vanilla extract. You don’t need a candy thermometer for this sauce and is ready in just a few minutes.

How to make homemade salted caramel sauce

Begin by placing sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Let it cook without stirring until the sugar dissolves and turns a caramel color.

Next, take the pan off the heat and carefully add the cream. It might bubble a bit, so be cautious.

Now, cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the mixture is smooth.

Afterward, remove it from the heat and add the butter and salt. Stir vigorously until everything blends together smoothly. Pour this delightful sauce into a small jar and let it cool.

As it cools down the sauce hardens slightly. Refrigerate the leftovers.

After refrigerating, you may need to heat it up again as it hardens in the fridge. I like to warm it over bain-marie until it reaches the desired pouring consistency.

There you have it! Your very own homemade caramel sauce, ready to add a touch of sweetness to your favorite treats.

Hope you will try this Salted Caramel Sauce and let it transform your everyday treats into extraordinary culinary masterpieces.  If you do, make sure to share the photos with me on Instagram. Enjoy!
